Meet Your Practitioner
Welcome to the Sanctuary.
Hi, my name is Nadia. I’m the founder and space holder here at The Sound Nest.
My journey into the world of sound didn't begin in a quiet studio — it began out of a deep, personal need for stillness.
Like many of us, I found myself overwhelmed by the constant noise, speed, and demands of modern life, especially as a mum of three active little girls, that I was homeschooling at that time.
I was searching for a way to truly quiet my mind and ground my nervous system. At first, I turned to meditation and yoga, which naturally opened the door for me to experience the magic of sound.
One day, just before Christmas, I was walking past a market stall, heard a beautiful melody that made me stop, and unexpectedly I bought myself a handmade xylophone. I couldn’t wait to play it myself! As I sat in the car randomly playing that simple instrument, something profound shifted within me.
I became deeply emotional and cried, but I couldn't stop playing. After a while, I felt an incredible sense of relief — like a heavy weight had been lifted off my chest. The mental chatter faded, my body deeply relaxed, and I finally found the spaciousness I had been longing for.
I knew right then that I needed to understand the power of sound. I started with a couple of small singing bowls, that I bought later, researching and watching YouTube tutorials to learn the right ways to play them. I went on to study a few different sound healing courses, but I still felt like a piece of the puzzle was missing.
That was until I discovered Kyela Sound Therapy (Australian College of Sound Therapy) — which, amazingly enough, was just around the corner from where I had been living the whole time!
Studying with Miranda and Karel changed everything. They taught me how to connect the profound art of sound with actual science, and I finally truly understood how sound works to heal.
Today, nestled in the beautiful, grounding nature of Nannup, I created The Sound Nest to be a peaceful sanctuary for you.
Whether you are joining me for a private 1:1 or couples session, coming for a restorative sound and massage duo, or gathering for a group event, my intention remains the same: to hold a safe, deeply nourishing space where you can step off the wheel of 'doing' and simply be.
My Training & Philosophy
While sound healing feels deeply intuitive, I believe that holding space for your wellbeing requires the highest level of care, science, and professional responsibility.
To ensure your sessions are safe, deeply restorative, and grounded in anatomy and frequency science, I have spent years immersing myself in formal studies. Every bowl played and frequency used is intentionally chosen to help shift your brainwaves into states of deep, cellular rest.
