Sound therapy uses sound frequencies and vibrations to help the body return to a state of natural balance. It works through a biological process called entrainment, where your internal systems sync up with the calming rhythms of instruments like singing bowls or tuning forks.
Here is how it affects the body on a scientific level:
Brainwave Shifting: The brain naturally follows the steady pulse of the sound. This shifts your brainwaves from an "active/stressed" state into Alpha and Theta states — the same frequencies reached during deep sleep or meditation, where the body does its best repair work.
Nervous System Reset: These sounds stimulate the vagus nerve, which acts as an "off-switch" for stress. This tells your body to stop producing cortisol (the stress hormone) and start activating your "rest and digest" system.
Cellular Vibration: Since the human body is about 70% water, sound vibrations travel easily through your muscles and organs. This acts like a "cellular massage," helping to ease physical tension and improve circulation at a microscopic level.
In short, it’s a non-invasive way to re-tune your biology, moving you out of "fight or flight" mode and into a state of deep, functional recovery.

Absolutely. In fact, sound therapy is perfect for people who find traditional meditation difficult. You don't have to "do" anything or try to quiet your mind—the sounds do the work for you by naturally drawing your attention and slowing down your heart rate.

Comfort is everything. We recommend loose, soft clothing (like your favorite tracksuit or leggings) and warm socks. Since your body temperature drops when you relax deeply, wearing layers is a smart move to stay cozy.

Your journey to relaxation begins with a quiet moment and a soothing cup of herbal tea to settle your senses. We’ve prepared a tranquil sanctuary just for you — simply settle onto a plush table and let yourself be embraced by warmth. Here, you are fully supported and secure, free to let go and simply be.
After a short settling meditation, I will begin playing the instruments. You just lie back, close your eyes, and let the sound wash over you. We finish with a few minutes of silence to let the experience "sink in" before you gently head back out.

Yes! If you fall asleep, it’s a sign that your body desperately needed that level of rest. You will still receive all the vibrational benefits of the session while you snooze. (And don't worry — if you snore, we consider it a compliment!)

Most people feel "lighter," calmer, and very relaxed. Some people feel a bit "spacey," so we always offer a glass of water and suggest taking a slow walk outside and breathe fresh air before jumping straight back into a car or a busy task.

Sound therapy is very safe, but there are a few "safety first" rules. Please consult your doctor or let me know before booking if you:
* Are in your first trimester of pregnancy.
* Have epilepsy triggered by sound.
* Have a pacemaker or metal implants (as vibrations can occasionally interfere).
* Have a severe mental health condition that might make deep sensory work overwhelming.
* Recently had a surgery.
